friday favorites

Planning, preparing, and serving my first Thanksgiving kept me away from the computer this week - but I have a great story to share about my favorite links for the week!


Being stationed on a military post overseas, we are limited to two choices for cable.

The local cable - which is totally in German.

Or AFN, the Armed Forces Network Television.

Most of the TV shows are about 6 months behind, but the news is current, and what really matters -- it has a cartoon channel...  (which our TV is almost permanently set to...)

Why am I telling you all of this for my friday favorites post?

Trust me! There is a reason!

Tuesday evening our AFN Family channel played "Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving".  I've watched this short movie hundreds of times as a child - we were huge Snoopy fans! But this was the first time my boys had seen it!  It was wonderful to see them giggle at Woodstock and Snoopy trying to serve cereal and toast for Thanksgiving! 

The next morning, they both came out of their rooms lugging a stuffed Snoopy and Woodstock and asking for the "Snoopy Thanksgiving Movie???" 

The other interesting dynamic of being overseas, is we do not have a local Blockbuster where I can just stop by and borrow a video.  I've found it easiest to buy things on Amazon and have them shipped to our APO address... that is of course if you think about it 3 weeks ahead of time to have your holiday video shipped/arrive BEFORE the holiday...

So --- what is a Savvy Mommy to do??  I choseUtube!
