christmas cards

Living in government housing is much like being a renter.

You aren't supposed to put holes in the wall - I do...
You aren't supposed to put tape on the wall - I do...
You aren't supposed to scratch up the floor - little boy scooters do...

When you go to move out of your quarters, there is an inspection where your oven, fridge, light fixtures, EVERYTHING-- must be clean!  Also, if they there are a lot of repairs that need to be made, you will likely be charged for it - this includes painting.

Why am I telling you all of this?

Each year, we are bombarded by lovely Christmas cards.
And each year, I am at a total loss for what to do with them!

I've tried taping them up - that peeled the paint.
I've considered buying a special card holder - but that would make more holes.
I've tried stacking them on the counter - I kept spilling coffee on them.

But THIS year... I have a new plan...

I started wrapping ribbon around our hallway door!
Hang cards on the horizontal ribbons and staple cards on the vertical ribbons!

Start with green, then red, then white.
(I taped them on the hinge side and the top of the door.)

Now I have a nice place for my cards, I won't peel the paint,
and my little people won't bother them! (And it looks nice on both sides!)

What do you do with all of your Holiday Cards?
